New Canaan Rotary Club’s 35th Annual Lobsterfest

Walter Stewart’s and Stewart’s Wine & Spirits are proud sponsors of the annual Lobsterfest by the Rotary Club of New Canaan.
The Rotary Club of New Canaan was chartered in 1959 as a member of Rotary International, the World’s Largest Service Organization. Lobsterfest is their Foundation’s major Annual Fundraiser, with all proceeds to benefit local and international charities through our Grant Process.
2020 marks the club’s 35th Annual Family Lobsterfest. Early fall is a fantastic time to enjoy a classic New England style steamed lobster dinner! Lobster not your thing? Don’t worry,  grilled Salmon or Fried chicken dinners too!

The flowers at the Nature Center are full of honey and so is our menu. Join us for a Virtual Cooking Event to support the Nature Center!  We’ll learn how to prepare a delicious Honey Marinated Chicken, paired with refreshing summer Rose.

St. Patrick’s Day Dinner & Social benefitting Kiwanis NCHS Scholarship

Walter Stewart’s is a proud sponsor of the annual St. Patrick’s Day Dinner & Social March 15th, 5-7pm, at St. Aloysius school hall in New Canaan, benefitting the Kiwanis Club of New Canaan Scholarship Foundation. Traditional Corned Beef & Cabbage meals served. Take out available. Irish music & dance by the Pender Keally School of Irish Dance and the Anam Cara Irish Dance School.

Cheese Tasting: local award-winning cheesemaker Arethusa Farm Dairy Saturday February 22nd from 11a-2p.
Stop by for a sampling of Arethusa’s local CT Farmstead Cheeses: award-winning Arethua Blue, Arethusa Mt. Tom, Arethusa Cry Baby, Arethusa Bella Bantam, and Arethusa Tapping Reeve (named after the founder of the first proprietary law school in America (Litchfield).
Arethusa Farmstead Blue won first place in the Blue Veined Cheese category at the 2018 World Championship Cheese Contest in Madison, Wisconsin. The cheese scored 97.55 to take home the “Best in Class” award.

Cabot Clothbound Cheddar Tasting Saturday February 15th, 11a-2p

Cabot Clothbound is made by Cabot Creamery, matured by Cellars at Jasper Hill.
Aged 9-14 months. The milk comes from George Kempton’s Farm in Peacham, VT. Approachable but complex natural-rind, bandaged cheddar with a crumbly texture and nutty aroma. Deeply savory and slightly tangy with caramel sweetness to the finish.
