To our Valued Customers:
Walter Stewart’s is working with the Director of Health and OEM to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. We have applied these temporary restrictions to our operation:

  • Shortened store hours 8 – 6:30
  • Maximum 30 customers in the store at any one time to help maintain 6’ social distance.
  • Please limit visit to one member of a family at one time.
  • Suspended use of reusable bags. We have plenty of paper bags in stock and will waive fee for paper bags.
  • Some limits on some items such as toilet paper and higher than usual out of stock items, but overall, we have a very good supply of food.

Please be respectful of our staff and others and cover your cough and of course if you are feeling ill or exhibiting signs of illness please refrain from entering our store.
Due to the high volume of calls, we will not be able to answer every question as we usually do. Please limit your phone call to the store to urgent questions so that our staff can concentrate on helping in store customers.

Sunday March 15th: A Day to Reset at Walter Stewart’s


To our Valued Customers:
Due to an unprecedented week of customer traffic and in the interest of the health and safety of our customers and staff, we have made the decision to close our doors for one day, Sunday March 15th, to do a comprehensive cleaning of our facility, restock our shelves, and make important operational changes to ensure that we will be in a position to serve the community over the next several weeks.
We will open our doors and resume our hours Monday March 16th at 8 am with temporary weekly hours of 8 am – 6:30pm.

A Health and Safety Update from Walter Stewart’s

To our Valued Customers
Our staff is committed to offering you the best personal service while also maintaining the highest level of food safety and sanitation.
With great care and precaution, our team practices the best disinfecting protocols to insure that our store is as safe as possible.
In addition to our existing best sanitation practices, here’s what we are doing to continue to keep our customers and team safe:

  • Increased cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces throughout the store, especially our checkout.
  • Maintaining communication with our managers and team to ensure we are following best handwashing and hygiene practices.
  • Monitoring the health of our staff with protocols in place to administer temperature checks of employees who may exhibit signs of illness.
  • Monitoring local, state, federal and industry agencies for guidance to modify our store operation to keep our customers and team safe.

As we are constantly evaluating our daily routines, we know you are doing the same.
We respectfully request that any patrons exhibiting signs of illness please refrain from entering our store.

This Organic Blue Cheese from Rogue Creamery in Oregon was just named The Best Cheese in the World at the World Cheese Awards in Italy! This is the first time an American cheesemaker has been awarded this accolade, placing first in a field of 3,804 entries representing 42 countries.
