The Young Women’s League of New Canaan (YWL) and the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce are thrilled to be partnering on the 2nd annual Fall into New Canaan: Celebrate the Season in our Village on Saturday September 8, 2018. Last year’s event generated over $100,000 for New Canaan businesses. Thanks to the success of FINC, last year’s featured beneficiary, Meals on Wheels, received a grant, which provides nutritious meals to members of our community. In addition funds were distributed to other deserving organizations including Bridgeport Rescue Mission, Connecticut Institute for Refugees & Immigrants, ElderHouse, and Malta House.

Fall into New Canaan is a town wide shopping event focused on supporting and celebrating our local stores. Walter Stewart’s and Stewart’s Wine & Spirits will donate a portion of their Saturday sales to the YWL Giving Fund!

This year’s Featured Beneficiary is Filling in the Blanks. Filling in the Blanks is a local organization created by two New Canaan moms that is dedicated to fighting childhood hunger. Filling in the Blanks provides much needed weekend and summer meals to children in need in the Fairfield and Westchester areas. By providing these meals, Filling in the Blanks is able to ‘fill the gap’ over the weekend for children with little or no other access to food at home. In 2019 they will provide meals to to 1,100 students for 44 weeks out of the year. What better way to support our town than by providing funds to a local charity doing such vital work in our community.
