The tallies are in and the New Canaan Food Pantry is freshly stocked. According to sponsors, participants in the recent Taste of the Town “Food Raiser” donated over $5,600 worth of groceries to the New Canaan Food Pantry. The combined efforts of the Chamber of Commerce, Walter Stewart’s shoppers and event strollers provided 189 bags of food items which were delivered this week.
The Food Pantry is located at St. Mark’s Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge and is open daily.  Walter Stewart’s Market also accepts donations at the Food Pantry stand near the check-out area.  Financial contributions may be sent to New Canaan Food Pantry, 77 Main St.
Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tucker Murphy said “The Taste of the Town has become one of our favorite events of the year.  We are so grateful  to all the business partners who allow us to collectively restock the shelves, helping those who need it.”
