New to WSM: Compostable Biodegradable Produce Bags
Walter Stewart’s compostable produce bags are the only produce bags approved by Curbside Compost for use in New Canaan’s Food Scrap program!
Why we made the change:
Our new bags are:
- Fully biodegradable and compostable and as such, can be reused for the separate collection of organic waste.
- Certified for home composting and the food scrap program at the Transfer Station
- BPI Certified
- Vincotte OK Compost HOME certified
They replace conventional plastic bags, which are bad for the environment because they take between 500 and 1,000 years to degrade. And much of the plastic we use ends up in our oceans.
