Just in time for your Super Bowl party planning, this crowd pleasing recipe from our friend Julia Deane’s Culinary Works blog. Whether you watch the big game or not this recipe is just what you need to please the crowd! We added two sauces for you to try, a lemon parsley sauce which is easy to whip up and a blue cheese herb butter with adds a lot of flavor. You’ll have your group cheering big time!
Sirloin Steak Crostini with Lemon Parsley Sauce or Blue Cheese Herb Butter
Ingredients
2-3 lbs. Sirloin Steak – will serve 4-6 people
Salt and Pepper
Lemon Parsley Sauce
1 Lemon – juiced and zested
1 large clove garlic, minced
1/3-1/2 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
3-4 tablespoons fresh Parsley, chopped
1 sprinkle crushed red pepper
Salt and Pepper
Blue Cheese Herb Butter
2 sticks butter, softened slightly
10 chives, minced or
1-2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
generous 1/2 cup blue cheese, softened
Salt and freshly ground black pepper – to taste
Directions
To make the lemon parsley sauce, combine all of the ingredients together in a small bowl. Taste for salt and pepper. Season the steak on both sides with salt and pepper. Grill 4-5 minutes on each side over high heat for medium rare. Let steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Slice into very small pieces and then toss with Parsley Sauce and serve on top of crostini’s.
To make the blue cheese herb butter, cream the butter with a fork, adding herbs and blue cheese.
Spread each crostini with blue cheese butter. Then top with steak and sauce.   Remaining butter can be wrapped and refrigerated or frozen.
