The combined efforts of the Chamber of Commerce, Walter Stewart’s shoppers and event strollers provided 155 bags of food items which were delivered last week.
Food Pantry Coordinator Carol Harvey said she was thrilled by the arrival of the much-needed food. Shelves are always being replenished, she added, noting that the following items would be especially welcome: juice boxes, canned soups, taco seasoning kits and boxed mashed potatoes. Food must be non-perishable and checked for expiration dates.

The New Canaan Food Pantry is stocked! Thanks to the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce and all of the Walter Stewart’s shoppers and Taste of Town strollers who donated, together we donated 179 bags of food to the Food Pantry today! We almost doubled our results from last year! And though Carol Harvey at the Food Pantry was blown away by the delivery of much-needed food she wanted everyone to know that the pantry is still in need of food donations, especially canned fruit and tuna fish. The New Canaan Food Pantry is located at St. Mark’s Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge in New Canaan. Walter Stewart’s also accepts donations to the Food Pantry – look for the NC Food Pantry stand near the store checkout.
