The Village Fair and Sidewalk Sale will take place downtown Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will include over 120 vendors and organizations, including 27 newcomers, alongside many of New Canaan’s favorite non-profit groups who will highlight the services and fundraising they provide the community. Each vendor will have a tent with tables or roll racks filled with merchandise for this year’s shoppers.
Chamber Executive Director Tucker Murphy said, “Karl Chevrolet and the YMCA are planning great kids activities for the Elm and Main intersection. There will be face painting, a magician, live music and great food.”
And look for Walter Stewart’s Farmstand on Elm Street for great deals on the freshest Local CT Produce from the best local farms! Get a FREE Re-usable tote with a purchase!
New Canaan Sidewalk Sale July 18th
Sponsored annually for 50 years by the Chamber of Commerce, the event’s root actually began in the 1920’s, when merchants put their wares on the sidewalks for sale.
The fair offers local residents and regional visitors an action packed, bargain filled, entertaining, and delicious way to spend a summer day in one of the most charming towns in Connecticut. The event has tons of activities planned and the merchants pull out all the stops! Sure, there’s a little inventory spring cleaning going on, where many of the best deals spawn from, but some merchant’s have specifically ordered their customers’ favorite items to be sold at discounted prices for just that day. There will be entertainment in all shapes and sizes!
