Beatrice Snyder, the happy winner of Peter’s Stocking, with CJ and Bennett of Walter Stewart’s.

Congratulations to Beatrice Snyder, age 5, a kindergartener at West School, winner of the toys in Peter’s Stocking, a cherished holiday tradition at Walter Stewart’s for 42 seasons! Walter Stewart’s also donated toys purchased at New Canaan Toy Store to Karl Chevrolet’s Toys for Tots drive.
The memory of Peter Lewis lives on with his favorite holiday tradition – Peter’s Stocking. For the 42nd holiday season, Walter Stewart’s invited our youngest shoppers to enter for a chance to win the toys in the giant red Christmas stocking hanging in our store. A tradition started by the late Peter Lewis. “Just seeing the happy faces of the kids makes me smile,” Peter said back in 2006 in response to this annual event. The toys were purchased from the New Canaan Toy Store with a few “Peter approved” traditional toys and classic games.
Walter Stewart’s is recently completed its annual Holiday T-Bill Donation Days drive to benefit local charities.  T-Bill customers were invited to donate T-Bill balances to the participating local non-profit organization of their choice. Thanks to the support of our customers, we are donating $2005 to designated local organizations!

A list of the participating non-profits was posted at each customer check-out. Shoppers who would like to participate in the T-Bill Donation Days program may obtain a courtesy card from the store’s customer service staff or sign up online.
