Sponsoring Friends of Mead Park Playground
Alex and Doug Stewart with Monica Capela

We are very pleased and proud to sponsor the Friends of Mead Park Playground. Thank you Monica and Allyson for spearheading this project! As we get closer to the end of our own renovation, we look forward to the renovated Mead park playground!
The Friends of Mead Park Playground (“FMPP”) is an independent community based fund-raising organization. We are raising funds for the purpose of providing a thoughtfully renovated play space at Mead Park that better meets the recreational, social and developmental needs of children in our community.

Donations may be handed to the students on April 3, made online at www.nchsscholarship.org, or sent by mail to the NCHS Scholarship Foundation, New Canaan High School, 11 Farm Road, New Canaan, CT 06840. Checks should be made out to the “NCHS Scholarship Foundation.”

Walter Stewart’s Market and New Canaan Bicycles have teamed up to sponsor New Canaan’s very own cycling club.  The members will fly New Canaan’s colors on local rides, as well as at charity events ranging from Massachusetts to Iowa.  At the end of July, members will participate in the CT Challenge to help cancer survivors live healthier lives TODAY!  Over 54,000 cancer survivors were impacted last year by programs funded by the bike ride.  Not just for adults.  On May 17th the club will also host its 3rd annual Bike Rodeo, co-sponsored by the West School PTC.  The rodeo focuses on the youngest cyclist in the family. Kids learn some helpful skills to keep them happy and safe on two wheels.
Lou Kozar, owner of New Canaan Bicycles, located at 96 Park Street, sees a perfect partner in Walter Stewarts Market and the healthy lifestyle that cycling promotes.
