Congratulations Lucan and Sienna Barrosa, winners of the toys in Peter’s Stocking! The memory of Peter Lewis lives on with his favorite holiday tradition. Walter Stewart’s also donated toys purchased from New Canaan Toy Store to the Toys for Tots drive. 

Lucas and Sienna’s mom Gina commented “They were so excited to win! All December whenever we came in to shop they checked if Peter’s stocking was up yet. They talked about it since last Christmas. We moved her at the end of 2021 and love shopping at Walter Stewart’s. We are there every week sometimes more than once! Mark has always been so helpful whenever we needed something.” 

Our T-Bill shoppers were also invited to donate their balances to their favorite local non-profits during our annual holiday donations days drive. Together we raised $2403.14 for participating local organizations, including ABC House, NC Food Pantry, Strays and Others, Horizons Student Enrichment, and others. Customers who would like to participate in the T-Bill Donation Days program may obtain a courtesy card from the store’s customer service staff or sign up online.

Thanks to the support of our customers, we are donating $2005 to designated local organizations!

Walter Stewart’s just completed its annual Holiday T-Bill Donation Days drive to benefit local charities. Together we raised $1608.25 for local charities!
During their Donation Days drives, T-Bill customers are invited to donate their T-Bill balances to the participating local non-profit organization of your choice. Walter Stewart’s donated $2062.14 to our shoppers’ designated local organizations during last year’s Holiday Donation Days drive, as well as more than $4,200 in charitable contributions during the market’s 109th anniversary Donation Days drive. Of that amount, $1,305 benefits the Americares Hurricane Matthew Haiti Relief Effort, in honor of Stewarts’ team members Pierre, Jean and Abcher. Walter Stewart’s donated over 100 Thanksgiving turkeys to Person-to-Person, which distributed the meals to local families in need.

South School and Holiday T-Bill drive results

Thanks to the T-Bill shoppers who generously donated their balances during the South School T-Bill Drive together we raised $2166.65 for the South PTC!
The special T-Bill drive was part of South School’s new “Shop for South” campaign. “Thank you so much for your gracious generosity and support. This is an incredible donation to South School and I know I can speak for all of us in expressing our heartfelt gratitude to you and everyone at Walter Stewart’s,” Jamie Boris, representing the South School PTC.
Walter Stewart’s also recently concluded it’s annual Holiday T-Bill drive to benefit local non-profits, designated by T-Bill shoppers. We raised a total of $2062.14 for participating New Canaan Organizations:
Strays & Others ($547.94), New Canaan Volunteer Firefighters ($280.18), New Canaan Nature Center ($195.38), New Canaan CARES ($156.20), ABC House ($151.62), Staying Put ($145.38), $132.77 (NC Food Pantry), Horizons Student Enrichment Program ($129), New Canaan Community Foundation ($106.58), Arts for Healing ($97.09), Get About Van ($65), and New Canaan Library ($55).

NCHS Scholarship
Foundation! 
Walter Stewart’s Market is conducting its annual T-Bill Donation Days week to benefit the New Canaan High School Scholarship Foundation from Sunday, April 19 through Saturday, April 25.
Throughout the week, Walter Stewart’s customers are invited to donate “T-Bill” balances they earn shopping at the store. Walter Stewart’s will match the balances designated by shoppers with a monetary donation to the Foundation. Walter Stewart’s has been partnering with the NCHS Scholarship Foundation for 15 years. Walter Stewart’s and their shoppers raised $1707,65 in 2014 and Alex Stewart estimates that they have donated close to $40,000 to the NCHS Scholarship foundation over the course of their 15 year partnership.
The NCHS Scholarship Foundation is a longstanding community effort to provide need-based financial aid for NCHS graduates pursuing higher education.
The Donation Days T-Bill week is beginning on “Scholarship Sunday” April 19th. Students wearing T-shirts will go door-to-door in New Canaan to collect donations for the Foundation that will benefit their fellow students. Donations may be handed to the students that day, sent by mail to the NCHS Scholarship Foundation, New Canaan High School, 11 Farm Road, New Canaan, CT 06840, or made online at www.nchsscholarship.org.
